So while meeting all these people from all around the world (ok, mostly Cali and Canada), we got into talking about the Michigan accent. Here are some words that you might hear coming out of my mouth:
Ciddy – aka City – T’s are too hard to pronounce
Cloze – aka clothes – cloze just sounds nicer
FI-yerr – aka fire – don’t ask why its 2 syllables
Foilage – aka foliage – obviously people in Michigan can’t read
Graage – aka garage – again, too lazy for 2 syllables
Grarrapids – aka Grand Rapids – Grand Rapids is too long and too hard to say
Groshries – aka groceries – too many syllables
Mier – aka mirror – again, too many syllables
Minnuhsoda – aka Minnesota – I’m sorry Jonny, your states name is too long
Others:
Euchre – a card game (pronounced you-ker)
Michigan Left – A right turn onto a boulevard followed by an immediate u-turn at the next available crossover. This keeps traffic from backing up at intersections with boulevards…
Ok, I’m done.
Went to the World Trade Center for a Toy/Maternity Convention with Dave and his friend Steve. Steve got a huge Gundam figure. Then we went to 101 and Dave and Steve ate some food. Then we went to Shilin and went in search of shoes for Eu-chan. We didn’t find any, but that’s ok…
Anyway, I got a purse (knock off leSportSac) and also 2 pins (playboy bunny and penguins).
I’m out now. Bye.
